Five reasons to fight every morning
The first few months are silent feat. Imagine: five babies to feed, five diapers to change, five crying to distinguish in the middle of the night. She learns to recognize the cry of each one – the one who is hungry, the one who demands an extra hug, the one that is agitated when it is uncomfortable.
Money is melting at full speed. The father, missing, does not provide any serious help.
Then she organizes herself. It cleans offices after closing. She repairs and retouches clothes for neighbors. She accepts missions that no one wants. She comes in with her hands damaged, her feet swollen, but she comes home.
She learns to stretch everything — euros, meals, sleep hours. She skips meals so that the refrigerator stays full. She checks the blankets of the children before thinking about hers.
There are nights when she cries alone in her kitchen. Moments of doubt, fear, total exhaustion. But never a moment when she plans to give up.
The truth arises thirty years later
The five children are growing up. They become curious adults of their origins. And one day, they decide to do a DNA test.
The results are falling.
The truth is there, clear, irrefutable: the genes of their biological father perfectly explain their appearance. A simple scientific reality that no one had bothered to look for in 1995.
Thirty years of sacrifice. Thirty years of unjustified absence. Thirty years of a mother who carried everything, alone, with a quiet strength and a bottomless generosity.
Sometimes history ends up doing justice to those who deserved to be believed from day one.
